When HSUS recognized their need for additional capacity to ensure the transition between software platforms went smoothly, they engaged the assistance of Charity Dynamics. The team carefully prioritized numerous tasks in preparation for the migration. First, Charity Dynamics identified HSUS’s business and program needs, and then configured the new software to support the defined business processes. Second, a detailed project plan was developed to eliminate surprises. All internal resources knew what was expected of them once the plan was in place. Third, advanced training was provided to ensure the HSUS team was able to quickly adapt to the new tools and take full advantage of the Convio solution. Finally, to reduce the stress associated with project management, HSUS used the Charity Dynamics team to manage the migration schedule for both Convio staff and HSUS’s internal staff. Weekly executive status reports and daily calls with individual teams ensured key milestones were reached.
