Brenda is originally from El Paso, Texas, but moved to Austin when she was about 8 years old and has lived in the capitol city ever since. To her, Austin is very much her home. She enjoys reading, hanging out with friend, and swimming when not at work.
What cause are you passionate about?
I am passionate about poverty, human rights, women’s rights, and education, among many other passions.
Where is your favorite vacation spot?
I really enjoy going to Roatan, Honduras. I love the warm weather and really enjoy relaxing on the beach.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
I would make sure my family members are taken care of. Then, I would take time to travel the world! There are a lot of places that I still would like to see.
What did you want to be when you grew up? What happened?
As a kid, I always envisioned myself being an archaeologist and was fascinated by it. However, as I grew older, Psychology and helping people grew closer to my heart and led me to major in Psychology and minor in Sociology at Texas State University.
What is the best invention during your lifetime?
I would have to say the iPhone. It is so practical and you can accomplish so many different tasks on it.
