Mary grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mary and family moved to Austin planning to stay a couple years, that was 20+ years ago. Now firmly rooted in Austin, she enjoys the Barton Creek greenbelt, hiking, Mexican food and margaritas, laughing with friends, and complaining about the Texas heat all summer long.  She also loves traveling whenever she has the chance.

What cause are you passionate about?

Animal welfare and protection for children and young adults.

What was the first big thing you bought with your own money?

A used VW Bug. I thought my dad bought it for me, then received the loan paperwork in the mail.

Where’s your favorite vacation spot?

For a relaxing vacation, the beach is my favorite. However, usually I choose vacations where we get to explore new locations very different from home.

If you had a time machine, what would you do?

Go back and see a dear friend one more time.

Have you ever won a contest?

6th grade talent show- group dance, and yes we wore gogo boots.
