Nancy comes from Dominican Republic and still enjoys very warm weather! Although her first stop in the United States was New York City for 10 years, she moved to a southern climate as quickly as she could. She currently lives in Austin, TX with her husband and their three little people. To stay happy and grounded, Nancy enjoys weight lifting, walking with friends, learning the violin, and practicing yoga.

What cause are you passionate about?

That’s a long list! Some of them are social justice, education, animal welfare, the environment, and homelessness.
What was the first big thing you bought with your own money?
I brought myself a Specialized bicycle that sadly got stolen a few years later.
Where’s your favorite vacation spot?
Goa, India! I took my first solo trip there, and spent the days on the beach, meeting people, reading, and playing volleyball.
If you had a time machine, what would you do?
I’d go back to pre-Columbian times, to see what life was in my native Caribbean island, before everything changed in 1492.
Have you ever won a contest?
I won a pair of sunglasses in a fundraising raffle! Not a lot of people bought tickets and I was very clear that I really wanted them, so I strongly suspect that the woman running the raffle took pity on me.

Nancy comes to Charity Dynamics with over 14 years of project management experience in the online fundraising sector, leading website deployments, migrations, and optimizations across multiple online fundraising platforms. She meandered her way there by following her passion for the processes and technology that shape the world of online fundraising. Prior to that, she worked in leadership development, finance, and insurance. Nancy obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from the City University of New York, Baruch College in 2000.
