Born and raised a Texas girl, Tara grew up in Houston and now resides in The Woodlands, Texas with her husband, two kids and rambunctious Labrador Retriever. Her kids’ sports keep her quite busy and she spends much of her free time cheering them on during their soccer tournaments, football games and track meets. She enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her family and friends, and getting outside as much as possible.
What cause are you passionate about?
I’m most passionate about causes related to children and cancer.
What was the first big thing you bought with your own money?
Out of college, my first big purchase was my car. My dad went with me and I still remember how proud I was to be able to make that purchase on my own.
Where’s your favorite vacation spot?
Really, anywhere I am with my family. We took the kids snow skiing for the first time last year to Beaver Creek, Colorado and loved it. Breckenridge in the summer is also beautiful. And let’s not forget anywhere with an ocean view!
If you had a time machine, what would you do?
I’d travel back to all the important moments in my life and just absorb them–my wedding, the birth of my children, special conversations along the way with my parents. Not change a thing, just bring the memories back to the forefront of my mind.
Have you ever won a contest?
I won tickets to an Astros playoff game once and got to sit right behind the dugout and made it onto the kiss cam with my husband.

Tara graduated from Texas A&M University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing and earned her MBA from the University of Houston with a concentration in Management Information Systems. She has over 20 years of experience in the digital space. Her career began in digital marketing for a large software company. From there, she joined Texas Children’s Hospital where she built the Online Giving program from the ground up. Now at Charity Dynamics, she enjoys partnering with her clients and providing strategic guidance and analysis to help them optimize and grow their online fundraising programs.
