Traci Walker

Project Coordinator

@life

Traci grew up outside of Oklahoma City and found her way to Austin in 2012. When she is not working, you can find her spending time outdoors – hiking, biking, swimming, milling about, she takes advantage of the outdoors as much as possible. She volunteers on the production team for Hill Country Ride for AIDS – a yearly bike ride that raises money for several local non-profits. Other than that, she enjoys cooking with no recipes, listening to podcasts, and planning her next trip (looking at you, Iceland). Having spent much of her career in the wine industry, she is full of opinions on wine and is always happy to tell you all about it.

What cause are you passionate about?
Simply put, I’m most passionate about access to healthcare as well as healthcare advancement.

What was the first big thing you bought with your own money?
A trip counts as a thing I bought — I took myself on a trip to Austria, Italy, Spain, and Slovenia.

Where’s your favorite vacation spot?
My favorite vacation spot is this tiny A-frame cabin I found in the Pacific Northwest right off of a mostly deserted beach. That or the home I recently stayed at in Ireland right off the beach. Pretty much any dreary cold beach, preferably with a forest nearby.

If you had a time machine, what would you do?
I’d probably stay away from it. Seems like bad news.

Have you ever won a contest?
I once won a chili cooking contest by adding cinnamon to a chili recipe provided on a can of beans.
