Prior to using Boundless Fundraising Mobile Check Deposit, how did The Longest Day process offline donations?

“The Longest Day is a DIY event, meaning that we have people all over the country and all over the world that are fundraising for us – and they may or may not be close to a chapter office. As a result, they have to mail off their check donations to a processing center to then wait for the check to arrive and be entered by a data entry person and be deposited into the bank.

And so, we were really feeling a lot of pain around that. Participants were frustrated with it, our chapters were frustrated with it, we were frustrated with it. We just really wanted a way to get the money in the bank faster, and on their participant page faster, and just create a better experience all the way around.”

Why did Alzheimer’s Association pursue Mobile Check Deposit? 

“This feature came around at a really great time for us because, as an organization, we were starting to look at how we can improve all of our gift processing throughout all of our programs. And so, Mobile Check Deposit has become a huge part of that. It really helps eliminate the risk of checks being lost, of checks being delivered to the wrong place, and it gets the participant what they want – which is to get that acknowledgement immediately that the donation has gone through and that it shows up on their progress meter. Resulting in the ability to thank their donor very quickly.

We also love that we’re getting the donor in the system even faster. We’re able to thank them sooner, and we’re able to continue to foster that relationship based on the ability to pass along that thank you more immediately.

We also have noticed, in going through this process of doing mobile check deposit, that when a check gets rejected, we know right away. We can go back to the participant and the donor and have that matter corrected. Whereas, if it had been mailed off and three weeks go by and then it gets rejected, we would have to mail a letter to the donor asking to resolve the issue. It’s really not a great experience for them or for the participant who doesn’t understand what happened to the money. So it has really given us much more insight into our participant’s experience and our donor’s experience, as well.”
