Project Description

The ALS Association’s mission is to lead the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig’s Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support. The ALS Association engaged with Charity Dynamics to take its Endurance program to the next level by optimizing their Luminate TeamRaiser and providing an improved user experience across all devices, while allowing for localizations at the local chapter level.

  • Hosts multiple event formats (run, cycle, triathlon) and locations thus making the landing page overly busy and difficult to navigate
  • Required the ability to host local information (sponsors, event details) and for staff at the chapter level to be able to make updates as required across the country, while maintaining a singular, branded look and feel
  • Experienced increasing usage from participants using mobile devices
  • Contained confusing and excessive navigation and multiple “Calls-To-Action” (CTAs), due to the complexity of the program, causing frustration for potential participants
  • TeamRaiser modules (Participant Center, registration and donations forms) were not responsive and therefore not optimized for “fundraisers on the go”
  • Turnkey solutions were needed to launch quickly


  • Utilize best practices in user experience design for multi-formatted event sites including streamlining navigation and primary CTAs to provide an ideal user experience
  • Responsive design and content priority audit implementation to ensure optimal performance regardless of device
  • Develop a responsive Participant Center
  • Introduce blueprint controls, at the Parent level, to protect program integrity when localizations are introduced to ensure consistent user experience across events
  • Integration of PageBuilder reusable content to simplify the localization process for local staff who may have varying levels of technical knowledge

  • Site energized with updated graphics and visuals
  • Simplified navigation helps visitors find and register for their event quickly and easily
