Partnering with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center to Offer New Payment Options

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center recently looked to step up their online donation form by offering a new payment option to their donors in the form of digital wallets. Charity Dynamics helped to achieve its goals by working with Amazon and Fred Hutch to troubleshoot, test and successfully launch the digital wallet functionality on Fred Hutch’s main donation form.

  • Our user experience strategist identified optimal ways for digital wallet payments to be placed on the donation form.
  • We created a clear and well-defined testing plan.
  • We performed an in-depth discovery process that involved liaising with payment processors directly, as well as with Fred Hutch’s technology staff.


  • We set up Blackbaud Checkout to include the digital payment options Apple Pay, Visa Checkout and Masterpass, and also set up Apply Pay via the Apply Pay API.
  • The donation form now seamlessy leads a donor through the digital payment options.
  • Approximately 10% of donations since the launch of the digital wallet functionality have come through Blackbaud Checkout or Amazon.
