Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Stand Up to Cancer program wanted to offer multiple options for donors to commemorate their gift. Charity Dynamics created a custom solution which allows a donor to chose from a mailed letter, a downloadable PDF, or an eCard all from their main donation form.

Challenge

Automate communication between their organization, honor/memorial donors and those to be notified of these donations for their Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) Program
Add additional functionality of a downloadable PDF to the In Honor and Memorial donation form
Work beyond the platform restrictions of Luminate Online that limits honor and memorial tributes to either a mailed letter OR an eCard

Approach

Customized the design and functionality of a Luminate Online donation form that allows donors to download a PDF of their honorary donation letter, send an eCard, or request a letter be mailed by the client
Incorporated a JavaScript PDF generator on donation form thank you page that pulls the donor’s honor/memorial message into a new PDF for download
Implemented custom eCard designs
Created Luminate Online Reports for EIF staff

Outcome

A one size fits all donation form that meets a wide range of honor or memorial donor needs
A clean, simple user experience with fields that expand and collapse as selections are made
A form that can be used as a template for future campaigns
EIF admins spends less time manually facilitating communication between their organization, honor/memorial donors and those being notified of the donations
