Project Description

Muscular Dystrophy Association is a nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. Their mission is to help the people who are suffering the most. MDA was relaunching their website and in the process they needed a simplified, mobile friendly donation form to match, so that’s where we came in. Charity Dynamics teamed up with MDA to create a new and improved donation form that fits with their new site and accomplished their overall objectives.

Challenge

MDA was launching a re-branded website and needed to update their donation form to match

Increase donations by simplifying donation process
Make more mobile friendly

Approach

New full-width banner design
Moved to a single page form vs. the 2-step form to increase conversion
Simplified the donation form by using toggles to show and hide fields only when necessary
Converted radio buttons to bold buttons to make selecting a donation amount easy on mobile

Outcome

Donation Completion Rate: increase of 35%., from 5.4% to 7.3%
Average Overall Gift: increase of 14%, from $61 to $70
% New Sustaining Gifts: increase of 50%, from 2% to 3%
Average Sustaining Gift: increase of 28%, from $28 to $36
