Project Description

National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) is dedicated to making life better for people with Parkinson’s disease by providing expert care and research. To date, they’ve funded over $189 million in crucial research and support services, including groundbreaking clinical studies. Knowing we had a responsibility to help them preserve this momentum, our redesign focused on maximizing donor pathways and streamlining NPF’s online fundraising. Their new, reorganized and fully responsive site is easier to navigate, and it’s equipped with a “tabbed” donation form so that NPF donors more ability than ever before to support these life-changing programs.

Challenge

Propose a user-centric site architecture capable of handling large amounts of diverse content
Rework multiple navigation schemes into a single solution that works site-wide
Ensure that design facilitates easy site access for users with Parkinson’s Disease
Elevate constituent stories and demonstrate the impact that NPF programs have on people living with Parkinson’s Disease

Approach

Thorough discovery process to identify user action pathways, inform strategy for new site architecture and streamline content in general
Heavy focus on ease-of-use, with UX at the forefront of all decisions
Special consideration for content areas pertaining to donor and patient audience groups
Simple and engaging page layouts achieved through clean, uncluttered templates
Present a multitude of clear and convenient donation options within the context of their impact on patients lives

Outcome

Fully responsive, custom Drupal CMS site theme with matching responsive email stationery, all optimized for easy access
Responsive, theme-identical page wrappers for all Blackbaud modules
More visibility for constituent stories and NPF’s critical work within the Parkinson’s community
Improved ability for users to locate local resources via NPF’s resource map
Responsive, tabbed donation form with impact language corresponding to gift amounts and options for supporting NPF’s major event programs
