The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is the nation’s largest and most effective animal protection organization, that drive change in the U.S. and around the world by combating large-scale cruelties. Charity Dynamics worked with HSUS myHumane to brand, design and implement the myHumane DIY fundraising program, simplify the registration process and improve overall UX.

Challenge

  • Develop a peer-to-peer offering to leverage committed HSUS supporters and the growth of fundraising through this channel
  • Balance the current HSUS brand value with a rebranding opportunity
  • Leverage internal HSUS design resources to reduce cost of overall development
  • Provide an industry leading user experience that incorporates fundraising and social media best practices

Approach

  • Charity Dynamics worked with HSUS staff to brand, design and implement the myHumane DIY fundraising program
  • Monitored program fundraising performance, site analytics and user feedback to determine areas for improvement
  • Utilized the TeamRaiser API to simplify the registration process and improve overall UX by reducing the number of registration steps
  • Implemented custom personal page template that allows users to update as the last step of the registration process

Outcome

  • More than one thousand registrants and over $100,000 raised with limited marketing and advertising
  • Improved registration conversion through iterative registration changes
  • Over 50% personal page update rate
  • Nearly one quarter of all participants make a personal donation
