1)  Leverage Salesforce to power site content
The National Parkinson Foundation site powers their local resource search through data that is pulled in dynamically from Salesforce. That means that the administrators of that information can easily make updates in Salesforce without ever having to touch the website. Check out the search, here.

2) Connect Donor Gifts to Impact
National Parkinson Foundation recently launched a new website and their donation form employs a great technique that connects donor gifts to the impact their gift can make through the organization. Selecting a gift amount dynamically displays an image and description of how the gift can be used toward furthering the mission of the organization. Check it out!

3) Plan for Time Sensitive Messaging on your Event Site
Are you able to easily communicate to your event participants if bad weather will delay your event? Or if an opportunity to run a time-sensitive fundraising promotion or matching gift campaign pops up before your event? Plan for the unexpected by building into your site easy ways to communicate information to your constituents quickly.

Here are a couple of our favorite ideas:

1) Designate a space on the event landing page that can be updated in plain text by any member of the event team with last minute messaging

2) Create a lightbox in advance for the homepage or Participant Center that only requires a text update and can be turned on in a flash

3) Set up an emergency email with groups already in place so that a message can be sent with only a few clicks

Don’t wait until the last minute to figure out how to communicate an urgent message to your participants. Plan ahead for the things that you can’t plan ahead for!
