The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding the cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, has worked with Charity Dynamics on various fundraising, social media, strategy and implementation initiatives since 2009. During their second annual Awareness Week Campaign, we were able to help CCFA engage with supporters by developing a holistic communication plan that would leverage social media to boost campaign results and overall awareness. Our comprehensive strategy was able to achieve success among individual supporters as well as empower the organization’s chapters to continue this success on a broader geographic scale.

Charity Dynamics has a rich history of working with CCFA allowed our Strategy Consultants to tap into the nonprofit’s marketing and operations to create a campaign that included multiple channels of constituent engagement, including Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram. We created a custom portfolio of impactful, “shareable” images that CCFA could post to promote sharing, clicking and general engagement. The Charity Dynamics consulting team also developed a comprehensive editorial calendar, spanning different areas of the organization’s services and programs to help the CCFA chapters to schedule out their social media involvement in advance. The results were incredibly positive, here are just a few.

  • 5% Facebook growth (5 times higher than weekly average)
  • 63% of fans engaged on Facebook (other campaigns averaged 15%)
  • 45,000 average Facebook users reached daily
  • 47% impressions were from viral/sharing content among peers

We also saw great results among other social media channels during the campaign, with a 473% growth in CCFA followers on Instagram and a 29% increase on Pinterest. The campaign left CCFA with strong assets and a social promotion plan, strategically designed to be useful for years to come.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America continues to remain at the forefront of research in Crohn’s disease and ucerative colitis by funding cutting-edge studies at major medical institutions, nurturing investigators at the early stages of their careers and finance underdeveloped areas of research. Charity Dynamics helped CCFA reach their supporters during the second annual Awareness Week through a comprehensive social media promotion strategy that will continue to benefit the organization in the future.
